Characteristics of 18x7 non-rotating wire rope

This 18x7  rotation resistant wire rope incorporates a fibre core which enhances flexibility and stability and is suitable for use in many areas including marine settings for mooring lines, construction for winches, tower crane rope and general industry use.

Unpredictable twisting and rotating of rope when loaded could cause great harm or damage. That’s why non-rotating wire rope has been specially designed, with inner and outer layers laid in opposite/alternate directions. The outer rotational force of the rope will counteract the rotational force of the inner strands, leaving a wire rope that is resistant to rotating.

Another big benefit is that the rope will maintain its lifting strength during an operation. A rotating rope could be subject to its wires and strands unravelling, causing it to lose its strength during an operation. Loads attached may also spin out of control which could obviously have disastrous consequences.

This particular product, the 18x7 non-rotating wire rope, is constructed from 18 strands of 7 wires twisted around a fibre core. As well as having a good level of resistance to rotation, its galvanized steel nature will also mean that it is has good corrosion resistance.
